A very serious issue for all of us is the safety and security of our family and property. Imagine being able to monitor the kids playing in the pool, your front door or the baby's room from any TV in your house, on a tablet or smartphone, from anywhere in the world. Covert cameras allow you to monitor a nanny, baby sitter, or house cleaning service allowing you to know what is going on when you are not there and giving you that peace of mind.
There are 2 main parts to a camera surveillance system, the cameras and the recording device (DVR/NVR). Choosing the right equipment for your home or business is very important. Just as with anything, price has a determining factor of the feature this equipment will have. Some important features on cameras are resolution, night time visibility (IR/Infrared) quality and range, lens type/size, and the processor used. There are also many other features that better cameras have that will enhance the video, such as performance in low light levels and compensate glare from bright background light. The recording device (DVR or NVR) will allow you to record any video that the cameras are viewing. They can be set to record full time, or to maximize hard drive space be set to record on motion only. There are several things to consider when selecting a DVR, from video quality to hard drive size. What is also important is to consider a unit that will accept more cameras than what is currently needed. Many of our customers add on cameras later on after having a system installed.
There are several different types of camera systems available today. Analog or HD (IP or HD Analog). Analog cameras come in a variety of resolutions, from 450 tvl to over 700 tvl. The higher the number the higher the lines or resolution the camera has. Even with higher resolution analog cameras one of the drawbacks is being able to zoom in when watching recorded video. This is where IP/HD Analog megapixel cameras are a great choice for customers in search of the best possible video coverage. With megapixel cameras, the overall resolution is many times greater than that of even the highest analog camera. With megapixel cameras there is enough resolution to be able to zoom in and still have the detail to read writing on a vehicle, more detailed facial features, and overall a cleaner crisper video. Magapixel cameras will also give a wider viewing area than a comparable analog camera.
